Assembling the AUSSIE MAX-PLUS® system

Only read this if you purchased the - "ASSEMBLE YOURSELF" - version of the Aussie Max-Plus.

If you purchased the Assemble Yourself version of the AUSSIE MAX-PLUS system, a WHITE ROUND 3-pin plug for the Mercedes Benz central locking  is included with your order. (BLACK RECTANGULAR 3-pin plug on w202).

To make the AUSSIE MAX-PLUS Plug-and-Play ready, simply connect this round or rectangular 3-pin plug to four wires from the AUSSIE MAX-PLUcontrol box, .................. Then just  Plug-In and go !

Use small wire twists to connect the Round Plug to the Keyless control box (Picture # 8 & 9), or you can solder and heat shrink the connections, which is preferred for dependability. Both methods are effective and are described below.

Start by removing the ORANGE and ORANGE / BLACK cables from the multi-pin connector. Take a small jewelers screwdriver and press down on the Pin on the multi-pin connector, while pulling on the cable (Picture # 10)

Take the four wires YELLOW and YELLOW / BLACK and WHITE and WHITE / BLACK and strip ¼ inch of insulation from all four cables. (Picture # 11)

Twist the WHITE and WHITE / BLACK cables together (Picture # 12)

Cut 3 inches of ¼ inch heat shrink tubing and slide it over the four cables from the control box. (Picture 13)

Cut 1 inch of 3/32-inch heat shrink tubing and slide it over the four cables from the control box  (Picture # 14)

Solder (or Twist-On connectors) the three cables from the Round Plug to the Group of three cables (actually four) from the keyless control box. (Picture #15)

-          KEYLESS CONTROL BOX                               ROUND PLUG                     RECTANGULAR PLUG

-          WHITE and WHITE / BLACK (2 x wires)  >              YELLOW            or                   RED

-          YELLOW                                              >                BLUE               or                   YELLOW

-          YELLOW / BLACK                                >                GREEN             or                   BROWN

Slide the heat shrink over the solder joints and heat with cigarette lighter. Heat the 3/32” first then slip the ¼ inch heat shrink over that, and re-heat. (Picture # 16 & 17) (Radio Shack Heat Shrink pack # 278-1627B).

Extend the RED (+) wire to the correct length for your car with 18 gauge stranded wire. (Radio shack wire # 278-1220) (Either solder the joint, or use a Twist on connector to extend the wire.)

-          W126 – Add an additional 4.5 feet of 18 gauge wire to the existing RED wire and 6 ft to the PINK wire.

-          W124 – Add an additional 2 feet of 18 gauge wire to the existing RED wire and 3 ft to the PINK wire.

-          W201 – Extend the RED wire 5 feet, and the PINK wire for the Parking Light Flash needs extending 6 feet.

-     W202 - Extend the Pink wire 2.5 feet

-      R107 - Add an addtional 6 feet of 18 gauge wire to the existing RED wire

Once you have extended the RED wire to the correct length, solder or crimp on an automotive female Paddle Connector. (Radio Shack Paddle connectors # 643-039, and for Trunk Light connection Paddle doubler # 643-064)

Strip 1 inch of insulation from the BLACK (-) wire and form a small loop around a screwdriver. Place solder on the loop. This is to mound on the car chassis for the Negative (-) (Picture # 18) (Or Radio shack spade connector # 643-128)
